NTT DoCoMo today has announced the Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc for its subscribers in Japan. Not exactly the biggest news, but alongside misty silver and midnight blue models, Japan will get its own exclusive ‘sakura pink’ model. The largest Japanese mobile carrier plans to launch the pink Xperia Arc next month, on March 24. When launched, the Sony Ericsson Xperia arc was labelled the “world’s slimmest smartphone”, but was hastily knocked from its perch by Japan’s NEC Medias N-04C.
The Xperia Arc is a slim 8.7mm thick, but manages to cram in an 8.1-megapixel camera and high definition video recording capabilities
The phone features a 1 GHz Qualcomm processor, 4.2-inch TFT Reality Display with Mobile BRAVIA® Engine running FWVGA (854 x 480) resolution protected by shatter proof sheet on scratch-resistant mineral glass, 512 MB internal memory, 8GB microSD card supplied, GPS, WiFi, Bluetooth, DLNA support, HDMI port, 8.1-megapixel camera with Sony Exmor R™ capable of recording 720p video and a 1,500mAh battery
